The Energy Protection Trap
From mudras to the truth about protecting your energy.
I am going to teach you three very powerful mudras that can help with energetic protection, but first, you should know the following:
If you are constantly trying to protect yourself from other energies, you are closing yourself off from the world. I have been there. This creates more division within your own being as well as in the world around you. It also means you are operating from a place of fear and may be slipping into the victim role—a very common pattern for energy-sensitive people. But tools (such as mudras) are helpful, and they can support us when used alongside inner work, Qigong, and virtues such as sincerity and humility.
Moving Beyond Protection
The most powerful form of energetic protection is sincere inner work aimed at revealing all layers of darkness within your own being. As we do this, we raise our frequency and anchor the divine within. The process is not linear and unfolds uniquely for each of us. Over time, as we continue this work, our internal (and external) environment begins to shift, and our presence naturally transmutes most of what we encounter.
Respect
These hand gestures—and all ancient practices—should be used with the utmost respect for the lineages they come from. There was a time when these simple tools were available only to a select few. Times have changed, and now these tools are needed more than ever.
What is a mudrā?
A mudrā is a symbolic hand gesture used for spiritual and meditative practices. It can often involve arm movements and be coupled with prayer, mantras, visualization and more.
Mudras appear across cultures, religions, and spiritual traditions worldwide, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Yoga, Qigong, and shamanic lineages
Deities and spiritual figures are often depicted holding mudras to convey protection, power, clarity, or other sacred qualities.
And here we go:
I. Bhūtaḍāmara Mudrā
Bhūta = spirits, energies, entities, elemental forces
Ḍāmara = subduing, binding, pacifying, or controlling
“The mudra that subdues or controls harmful energies/spirits.”
It is linked to protection, command, and energetic dominance.
The Sanskrit word “mudrā” is pronounced as: “Moo-draa”
How To Perform
ONE
Extend all fingers except the ring finger, which bends down. It is hard to see in the picture, but my thumb is outstretched as well.
TWO
Cross the arms over the chest – right arm over left, palms pointing out.
THREE
Breathe, focus your intent and give thanks.
II. Shambhala’s Shield
Rooted in Tibetan and Central Asian Shambhala lore, where Shambhala is a hidden, luminous realm accessible only through purity of mind and vibration.
“Not literal invisibility, but a cloak of vibrational camouflage.”
A mudra that hides your presence, and keeps you free from emotional or psychic entanglement.
How To Perform
ONE
Open the left hand and make it completely flat. Close the right hand into a fist.
TWO
Place the knuckles of the right hand into the palm of the left.
THREE
Breathe, focus your intent and give thanks.
III. Vajra Mudrā
In spiritual traditions, the vajra can represent both an indestructible thunderbolt weapon or a wrathful deity embodying protection, strength, and the power to subdue harmful energies.
“Symbolizes indestructible presence, inner strength, and the sealing of the heart-center.”
It stabilizes the central channel, protects energy and emotions, and strengthens clarity and boundaries.”
How To Perform
ONE
Make a light fist with each hand and tuck the thumbs inside the fist so that the tips of the thumbs touch the base of the ring fingers.
TWO
Cross the arms over the chest – right arm over left.
THREE
Breathe, focus your intent and give thanks.
Enjoy the journey everyone.

I love this so very much! I always said that 'protection' is fear-based, and THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR! I agree that raising your frequency and being in the place of higher vibes feels way better than lowering your energy to "protect" against what? You're not even sure.
I enjoyed these. I'm currently meditating and experimenting with the mudras. Thank you for sharing :)
